It appears to be autumn because all my Mums are in bloom and I’m writing my Fall Presidential Letter to all my friends in Western States.
I so enjoyed myself and sharing with all of you at our very successful Rally in wine country at Paso Robles. Thank you to all who participated in the making of such a memorable event.
To coincide with the leaves changing their colors, we also are making changes in Western States, one of which you will all need to be wearing your “Name Tag’s” at our events. This enables members to talk to and approach you without being embarrassed because they don’t know your name.
We’ve also consolidated the membership Roster for 2022; it makes it more practical financially.
We are also reprinting a brochure to hand out to new people that explains our organization. Thank you to Jim and Grace Kanomata for their generous offer to cover the printing cost. Jim and Grace are also putting together a list of mechanic and repair shops that are friendly to GMC owner’s and help us with those pesky breakdowns. My hope will be, that when you’re traveling you won’t be at such a loss for help.
I’d also like to acknowledge some of the members that work behind the scenes and never get much-needed praise. Manny Trovao, who loads and unloads all our equipment that add so much to our success. Suenell Tordin , who followed Gene home at night so that he reached the motor home safely. Suenell, how about hosting a seminar on health at the Spring Rally? George & Ruth Beckman, for always providing us with a lovely church service on Sunday as well as an auction, not sure that should be in the same sentence. Fin Beven, who tirelessly takes pictures of all of us having fun, how about those Drone shots, It felt so cool and modern. Thank you to Brenda Cartwright for the great t-shirt painting class. Scott Cartwright, who made us a lovely tri-tip dinner and beans that I remember from my childhood in Santa Barbara, Linda Clark, who always helps me with preparations, like our wonderful Bread Pudding which is contribution of Donna deGrafffenreid that’s become a tradition. Nick Roenick & Donna Ventura for the Wine tasting and supplemented the wines from their private stash.
Our next rally will be held in the Spring 2022, at Emerald Desert RV Resort in Palm Desert, dates are April 7th thru April 11th the checkout day. Carol Minnie is brimming with ideas for our ladies activities, I’m feeling a tour coming on, including a scavenger hunt from the bus, food will all be catered, so mark your calendar and we will see you there in the warm California sunshine.
