GMCWS General Membership Meeting Minutes
Seven Feathers RV Resort, Canyonville, OR  97417
October 6, 2023

1. Meeting was called to order at 10:40 AM by President Jim Kanomata.
2. Pledge of Allegiance was then led.
3. Minutes of April 14, 2023, held at Wine Country RV Resort, Paso Robles, CA.

M/S/P (G. Beckman/R. Beckman) To accept the Minutes of April 14, 2023, as presented.

4. President’s Report was presented by Jim Kanomata.

• FMCA presented a 35 Year Anniversary Certificate and a check for $200.00 to the GMC Western States.  This award was accepted by Sharon Work at the FMCA Convention.
• President Kanomata also presented the following with a $100 gift certificate each to:  Dave DeGraffenreid; Scott Cartwright; and Armand Minnie for their exceptional work.
• We should prepare a “Blacklist” for Western States.
• The GMC Western States brochure is to be given to people who show interest in the GMC.
• Introduced the following: Jon and Sandy Schmit, from Washington; Troy and Jolene Slavkovsky, from Eugene Oregon; and Bernie Sabal.
• Showed the Ragusa “GMC Classics Plaque” that Jim would like the GMC Western States members to have on their GMC.  The cost is $49.95.
• GMCWS’ Red Safety Box with AED machine.  Put notice/sign next to it to tell people where the AED is located.  Put this box also inside the meeting room.
• Jim wants to form an Executive Board members made up of regional clubs in the Western States; reach out to them to increase membership; must be FMCA members.
• Use Applied’s customer list.

5. Vice President’s Report was presented by Jodell Banovich. Craft activity after this meeting.  Will have a Halloween theme.

6. Vice President’s Report was presented by Scott Cartwright.  

• The April 4-7, 2024, will be held at the Vintage Rally at Frank Bonnelli State Park in San Dimas.
• Has full hook ups, car show, food trailers.
• Fall rally TBD.

7. Treasurer’s Report was presented by Dave DeGraffenreid. 

• Ending balance as of 2022 was $17,000.
• Check to Scott Cartwright for $1,700.
• Last rally we broke even.
• $35 to buy GMCWS badges for new members by Dave DeGraffenreid.
• $100 to outgoing President.
• $16,500 balance now.
• Webmaster’s expenses pending.
• Auction off sets expenses.
• Centerpieces to support rally expenses or the treasurery.

8. Webmaster’s Report was absent.

• Armand has requested to be replaced.
• He will continue to assist us until his replacement is found.
• M/S/P (R. Beckman/G. Beckman) To give $100 gift certificate to Armand Minnie in recognition of his work as Webmaster. 
• Someone suggested Brenda Cartwright.

9. National Director’s Report – Sharon Work was not available.  

• Dean Hanson has offered to take this position.  
• Judy Booth offered to contact Sharon and ask her for her intent to continue as GMCWS FMCA representative.  
• Some of the duties of the FMCA Representative are to vote on: FMCA officers; activities; travel insurance; liability insurance for our rallies, etc.  

10. Newsletter Editor – 

• Judy Booth has declined to continue as the Newsletter Editor.  
• The committee reports can be placed on the website.

11. Nominating Committee Report – Nominations for the Board were made and accepted as follows:

• Second Vice President, Scott Cartwright
• Secretary, Grace Kanomata
• Treasurer, David DeGraffenreid
• National Director, Sharon Work
• Alternate National Director, Manny Trovao
• Newsletter Editor, Sharon Work was not present to either accept or decline.
• Webmaster, Armand Minnie

12. Unfinished Business – None.

13. New Business -  

Upcoming club rallies:  

• Suggested looking at State Parks.
• Must have a club house, kitchen.
• Check out Hemet, Santa Rosa.

14. Adjournment – There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:30 AM.
