Peddlers' Faire/Swap Meet

Let's have a really great Peddlers' Faire/ Swap Meet at this Roundup. Get out all that "stuff" you know someone else might want, and bring the handmade items you've created. Clear out those tight closets and garages and recycle those collectibles and white elephants at our Roundup at Mariposa. Any items you do not sell and wish to donate to charity, we will deliver to a local charity after the Roundup, so you won't have to worry about carting anything back home. We want this to be a chance for you to be actively involved in our Western States Roundup. We will use the picnic area for the Peddlers' Faire/Swap Meet because it is shady and comes with picnic tables for display. Jim Rowe has been volunteered by his wife Audree to set up a cold drink stand in the area, so we can mix and mingle, bargain and haggle, and make some new friends while wetting our whistles.

In the past we have had a book exchange, but we would like to reemphasize this exchange by including it in the Peddlers' Faire/Swap Meet. Please bring the books you have read and exchange them or donate them to Western States. We use the money we collect in this manner to buy thank you gifts. At $.25 for older paperbacks, $.50 for more recent ones or hardcover books, and $1.00 for recent best sellers, this is a real deal. Make an offer! Have a drink! Sit a spell under the shady trees. We need the help of the guys here. Come on. Bring us those manly type books you've read. Let's dig out those piles of books we have that are going nowhere. You need the space, and we need the books.

Emery Stora, our technical vice president, also has arranged for GMC related vendors to be present, and they will be a part of this event. See Emery's input above for more information on these participants. We know for sure Jim Bounds will be there all the way from Florida, and if you're interested in updating the look of your GMC or refurbishing the Classic look, he's the man to see.

Any questions or concerns you may have about this event please contact Audree Rowe, Emery Stora or Lillian Trubert. We've scheduled this event to take place on Thursday afternoon at 2:00. We're excited about the Roundup and want you to be too!

Spring Roundup Recipe

Here is a recipe from Nancy that should have been published in the last newsletter but was not because of space.
Hungarian Chicken Paprikas (They don't make chickens like they used to)
Sauter chicken parts in plenty of chopped onion and
paprika in a large stew pot along with a little celery,
a few slivers of green pepper and salt and pepper to
taste. Add enough water to just cover the chicken and
simmer for approximately two hours (maybe less) until
chicken is tender. Remove from heat and add a few
dollops of sour cream - the real stuff not that "lite"
garbage of (God forbid) yogurt! Serve over those little
pinched-off-the-edge-of-a-bowl-with-a-spoon dumpling-
type noodles you have already made from flour, egg, salt and just enough water to form a thick dough. Yes, and for all those health freaks, have a green salad with it! (You may use the "lite" dressing here...what can you do to lettuce!) Enjoy.
