{"id":7244,"date":"2019-06-29T17:44:22","date_gmt":"2019-06-30T00:44:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gmcws.org\/blog\/?p=7244"},"modified":"2019-10-22T07:42:21","modified_gmt":"2019-10-22T14:42:21","slug":"a-message-from-your-president-june-29-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gmcws.org\/blog\/a-message-from-your-president-june-29-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"A Message From Your President &#8211; June 29, 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Message from your President<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\tI want to address how beautiful Oregon is: I would highly encourage everyone to succumb to the beauty that is Oregon at the Fall Rally Oct 2<sup>nd<\/sup> thru Oct 7<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp; We have incorporated as much of Oregon as we could, in our Beer Tasting using a local brewery \u201cTwo Shy Brewery\u201d, 3 local baskets for raffling off, filled with surprises such as Portland Catsup, a Keen Shoe representative giving a talk on his Portland based company, Ladies Brunch with a presentation by the Cow Creek Tribe of their basket making and jewelry,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\tA local tour of hidden sites with a lunch at a local winery located on the Umpqua River, crossing the Milo Academy covered wooden bridge, a costume Party, carving and decorating pumpkins, an Oregon couples game, a book club event that discusses local history, and a chance to bond with your GMC friends, attend seminars, shop with the vendors, and attend our own church service with the Beckman\u2019s, and an Auction. So let\u2019s sign-up and make some memories to last a lifetime. Just go on-line or get your registration form from the newsletter, one catch, you have to register and have it in by August 31<sup>st<\/sup> to participate.&nbsp; Remember to bring items for the auction and your own Swap meet. Stroll through the park and avail yourself of the \u201cOpen House\u201d it\u2019s always fun looking at our beautiful GMC\u2019S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\tJoin our Business Meeting, Sat Oct 5<sup>th<\/sup> 9:30-10:30.&nbsp; Before you come you will need to read Donna Ventura\u2019s minutes from the previous meeting so you can vote to accept them.&nbsp; Donna has also been busy bringing our Chapter Bylaws current and within the regulations of FMCA, we are legal and up to date, quite an accomplishment, a big special \u201cThank You\u201d, to Donna.&nbsp; I also want to thank Manny Trovao for building a special box for our speakers to travel in style and comfort.  Thanks also to the Boys of Western States and their organizing of our sound equipment:&nbsp; Dave de Graffenreid, Armand Minnie, and Manny Trovao.  I also want to thank Suenell Tordini for keeping my spirts up with her beautiful cards, Grace Kanomata for always lending a hand and her willingness to help me, Jim Kanomata for his support and sponsoring our Happy Hours.&nbsp; It really is appreciated and helps us to bring you more opportunities to enjoy our Western States Rallies.
