Redwood Millennium Roundup
April 24-29, 2000

by Roy Platz

We have reserved the Redwood Empire Fair-grounds for this Spring Y2K rally. We think you will enjoy the beautiful area, as we are living in the less than frantic Mendocino County in Northwestern California.

We are arranging some interesting trips: to a most interesting winery, a trip to the coast to view the rhododendron gardens and coastal scenery and a trip back to the redwoods. Also if there is enough interest, we can schedule a Skunk Train Trip through some of the most famous redwood area in Northern California. As the scheduled train does not run until Memorial Day, we would have to charter the single engine car, capacity of 55, for the day. Due to the cost of the train, charter bus, and lunches, we would be looking at $40 to $45 per person. Please let me have your input on this.

We have reserved two buildings on the grounds for meals and seminars. The parking areas are mostly paved, and all will have power and water. There are approximately 40 spaces with full hook-ups. We are within distance to fast food, full service restaurants and a large market. Modern motels are nearby.

Al Singleton has agreed to assist us in many of the daily events such as seminars and other activities. Miki Singleton has agreed to handle registration, so when the time comes for that, you will forward those to her attention. John and Lucy Stagemann will handle the parking and assist those who might want to play a game of golf. Chuck Aulgur will do his usual fine job of tech seminar scheduling along with Al Singleton.

All five of our breakfasts along with three dinners will be catered events. After the comments we received in Albuquerque concerning potluck dinners, we may elect to have a catered dinner the first night, and perhaps a potluck one other night. Some com-ments were from the ladies, who felt after traveling for several days, a dish the first night was too hectic. Sounds right ….Let us have your thoughts on this. Friday P.M. we plan a wine tasting and snacks at the fairgrounds plus some local music. Don't worry if you don't drink or enjoy wine. We will prepare for that.

Since we will be out of town from January through March, Al and Miki Singleton, who live in the Bay Area, have agreed to assist us in any way needed. We will be in contact with them frequently, so there will be a flow of information available.
Please mark your calendar April 24-29, 2000 for a pleasant rally in beautiful Northern California. We hope to see some of you this winter at Pacific Cruis-ers or Saguaro Jetset rallies.

 Northwest Passage Rendezvous
September 10-15, 2000

By Bill Harvey

Return with us to the days of the fur trappers in the lake country wilds of the Idaho Panhandle and Eastern Washington State. Enjoy five fun filled days on the shores of beautiful Little Diamond Lake in Newport, Washington. Tour to Sandpoint, Lake Pend Oreille and Bonners Ferry Casino. Golf at Hidden Lakes Golf Course. And all of this will be in addition to the usual well planned Technical Sessions and Nontechnical Programs planned for the Fall 2000 Roundup.

It is not too early to start planning for your fall tour-ing. And we are making it very easy for you to integrate this roundup with the GMCMI Convention at Mt. Hood, Oregon if you wish. In cooperation with GMCMI we have scheduled our roundup to end two full days before and an easy 330 miles from the GMCMI rally September 17-23.

In addition, in further cooperation with GMCMI, we jointly will be assuring that if you attend both rallies, you won't be hearing the same technical information twice. Here is a wonderful chance to visit the North-west during a beautiful time of year and get a double exposure to both the glorious fall weather, technical programs and the fellowship of both GMC clubs.

So plan your time now and stand by for a detailed program plan by early summer if not at the Redwood Millennium Roundup. Oh yes, for those who want to have the financial facts, we will have five nights of camping, three catered dinners with ice cream, five breakfasts, a full day optional tour and really great spare time opportunities for fishing and boating on site - all for around the usual $250 fee.
